Lucio received his MSEE (Summa cum Laude) from the University of Trieste, Italy in 1990, presenting a thesis on the “Simulation of digital logic circuits using the Occam model of parallelism”. After graduating, he worked as a software/hardware designer on projects as diverse as image processing, industrial automation, and security systems.
He joined Microchip Technology in 1995 as a Field Application Engineer. In 2000, he moved to Chandler, (AZ) where he worked for various Microchip product divisions including Analog, 16-bit and 32-bit.
Since 2011 Lucio has returned to Europe (Germany) where he travels extensively as a business development manager for Microchip 8-bit MCU division.
Lucio earned his US Private Pilot License in 2002 and an instrument rating in 2005. He has since accumulated 500 hours of experience in various single engine airplanes. In 2012 he has received a European Private Pilot License and in 2013 he added an ultralight pilot license as well.
Lucio still owns a Cessna 172 (N75816), which he tries to fly as frequently as possible when in the US.
